    Jeep JK Rock Crawler Rear Bumper with Swing-out Tire Carrier


    Dave's Customs Unlimited Jeep JK Wrangler rear bumper with tire carrier is definitely in a class of its own.

    Designed specifically for those looking for a one-hand operation when trying to open the tailgate on your Jeep. The tailgate and tire carrier swing open seamlessly with one hand, which is convenient when you have an armload of groceries or gear in the other. No latches or pins to undo.

    Our rear bumper is a mid-width design. The rear bumper shell is constructed from CNC cut and CNC formed 3/16" HRP&O steel for a precise fit. 1/4" thick brackets tie the bumper to the frame with internal floating angle brackets sandwiching the frame rails with the supplied heavy-duty 5/8" grade 8 bolts creating a rock solid mounting. The floating brackets allow for adjustability in the bumper and allows for secure tightening to the Jeep frame regardless of manufacturing variances from the Jeep factory. This rigidly fastened bumper provides the ultimate strength and rigidity for the swing-out tire carrier.

    Our JK rear bumper also includes two HEAVY-DUTY 1" thick recovery shackle tabs welded inside and out for superior strength.

    These bumpers are crafted by professional welders and fabricators, so overall fit and attention to detail are second to none !

    Our one-hand operation swing-out tire carrier swings seamlessly on the best in the market bomb-proof spindle assembly. The monster 3" carrier hinge housing rides on Timken tapered roller bearings and the huge 1 1/2" diameter spindle shaft is custom CNC machined. "This is not a cutoff trailer spindle like a lot of competitors use." A custom CNC machined Billet aluminum cap finishes it off. The grease is fully contained with its heavy-duty wheel bearing seal at the bottom. With this HEAVY-DUTY setup, we can truly say you can run up to a 40" tire on it !

    The tire carrier itself is a work of art that is CNC cut from 3/16" HRP&O steel pieces that are keyed together and assembled in a fixture, and mig welded together expertly. No rectangular tubing pieced together here !

    The swing-out tire carrier has a custom-designed heim joint (rod end) link system that attaches to the tailgate plate, so they open and close in tandem. This innovative design keeps the two pieces perfectly aligned when open and tight when closed.


    The custom heim joint link has right and left-hand threads for ease of adjustment, setting preload with the tire carrier, and its custom urethane bump stops up against the tailgate plate for a rattle free install.

    The fully adjustable tire mount is adjustable up and down, as well as in and out to accommodate a wide variety of tire sizes up to 40". The adjustability also allows for a variety of wheel offsets, so the spare tire can be sucked up tight and mounted low. The center of the tire mount also has a provision for a 2" diameter LED light for a third brake light (light not included).

    The top of the tire carrier also has provisions for a CB antenna and has provisions for an optional hi-lift jack mount.

    Bumper and tire carrier assembly ships bare steel and will need to be painted or powder-coated prior to final installation.
